Held in commemoration of Arab Tourism Day, “Antar Wa Abla” is debuted the historical opera in July 2016 in Lebanon by Opera Lebanon. Based on the famous Arabic love story of Antar and Abla, the performance received widespread admiration from the audience as a novel art genre in the region, as well as being considered a turning point in the region’s opera scene as it masterfully combined original symphonic music with the poetic aesthetics of the Arabic language and techniques used specifically in singing opera in Arabic.
